The trend for outdoor wedding ceremonies continues and as a celebrant here in Sussex, I have the benefit of seeing some wonderful venues in action. So here are some of my top picks for Sussex wedding venues for an outdoor ceremony.
Pelham House, Lewes
Art-Deco glamour and gorgeous grounds are what you will find at Pelham House. Tucked away just behind Lewes High Street, the gardens here feel like a tranquil oasis just a hop from the buzz of the shops and pubs. The garden has a lovely wooden gazebo which is the perfect backdrop for a ceremony and they have a wonderful indoor option too in the Goring Room (I'm always an advocate for a plan B - this is the UK!). With an in-house events management team on hand, the planning of your day should be smooth and painless.
Great Betley Farmhouse, Henfield
The perfect home from home feel for a gorgeous country wedding. Great Betley Farmhouse has beautiful grounds which offer a blank canvas for you to create your perfect day. There are a few different options when it comes to your ceremony, but the front lawn with the pond in the background has to be a favourite. They are an environmentally conscious venue too, so perfect if you are keen to consider the impact of your day on the planet!

Weddings at Woodfords, Ansty
This is a venue unlike any other! Home to an award winning wood sculptor, it is a magical woodland setting nestled at the foot of the Downs. With a natural amphitheater, fire pits and cabins onsite - the perfect setting for a festival style wedding or a weekend celebration where you want to embrace nature and all it has to offer. There are lots of options when it comes to your ceremony, the only limit is your imagination!

Woodmancote Place, Henfield
With the beautiful Manor House as your backdrop, this venue oozes elegance and charm. Steeped in history - it is a definite wow factor setting! Various outdoor options are available for your ceremony; the front lawn, by the side of the lake or the croquet lawn being just three of them. With 150 acres to play with, they can host weddings of up to 200 people.

Pangdean Barn, Pyecombe
Sussex is lucky to have lots of barn venues but Pangdean is a cut above. The service, the food and the setting. Opt to have your ceremony in the gardens safe in the knowledge that the barn offers a perfect back up option, if needed. Whilst being the perfect country venue, you are so close to Brighton and all it has to offer - making it super easy for guests who are visiting the city.
Remember, when it comes to your ceremony, if you opt for a celebrant then there are no licensing restrictions, so you can hold it anywhere. So if you want to stray away from wedding venues and come up with something altogether more unique - go for it!
As a specialist in outdoor ceremonies, I will ensure you have a ceremony to be proud of - one that you are excited to share with your guests, which is the perfect celebration of you two and which is delivered without any unnecessary stress.
